Justice as a Living Practice

Honoring the Land & Ancestors
I practice as a guest upon the traditional, ancestral, and unceded homelands of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla peoples, and the Kalapuya people, including the Chelamela, Yoncalla, and Winefelly bands. I also acknowledge the enduring presence and sovereign rights of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, whose stewardship of these lands and waters continues from time immemorial.

My relationship to this place begins with the humility of knowing I am an occupant. My commitment is to move beyond occupation toward reciprocal care—by planting native seeds, protecting the soil and water, and redirecting resources to the Indigenous communities of this region. My ongoing action is to seek authentic connection with these communities, to listen, and to align my healing work with the stewardship they have always practiced.
This acknowledgement is not an endpoint, but a living reminder of my responsibility to the land and its original caretakers.
